Arizona State’s Emilija Tverijonaite (women’s) and Niels Villard (men’s) were tabbed as the Big 12 Tennis Players of the Week.
 
Tverijonaite finished the long weekend with four combined wins. The No. 42-ranked junior defeated No. 16 Jana Hossam of No. 19 Southern California, 6-1, 6-1, picking up her second straight top-20 opponent win of the season. In doubles, Tverijonaite paired with graduate student Vivian Ovrootsky, clinching the doubles point against UC Davis and Grand Canyon. The duo ended their weekend with a ranked doubles win over USC’s No. 51-ranked pair of Jana Hossam and Krisha Mahendran.  
 
Villard posted a combined 6-0 record in singles and doubles play against Wichita State, New Mexico State and UNLV. The sophomore picked up singles wins over Wichita State’s Pablo, 7-6 (6), 6-2 and UNLV’s Joel Gibson, 6-2, 6-3. He then paired with Ofek Shimanov and Shu Matsuoka, respectively, to clinch the remaining doubles points, helping Arizona State remain undefeated.
