TCU’s Williams and TTU’s Uter Earn Weekly Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Honors

TCU’s Tia Williams (women’s) and Texas Tech’s Shaemar Uter (men’s) claimed the Big 12 indoor track and field athletes of the week honors.

Williams clocked a time of 52.36 in the women’s 400 meters, breaking her personal best and a school record. With the mark, the junior became the second Horned Frog to run a sub-53 in the event. Williams currently leads the Big 12 and ranks No. 12 nationally. This is Williams’ first Big 12 indoor track and field honor.

On the men’s side, Uter recorded a time of 45.54 in the men’s 400 meters. The senior set a new personal record in the event, shaving five milliseconds off his previous time. Uter’s time leads the Big 12 while sitting at No. 20 nationally. This is his first Big 12 weekly accolade.
