Six Big 12 Athletes Claim National Titles at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

The Big 12 programs concluded their season after two days of competition at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Randal Tyson Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
 
On the women’s side, BYU and Texas Tech finished in the top 10, with the Cougars earning 27 points for fifth place, while the Red Raiders tallied 21 points to finish ninth. The Kansas State men tied for fourth place with 24 points and the BYU men placed seventh with 20 points.
 
The Conference collected seven individual titles over the weekend, with the addition of one silver medal and six bronze medals.
 
Kansas’ Ashton Barkdull claimed the lone title for the Jayhawks, winning the men’s pole vault with a height of 5.80 meters.
 
BYU’s Carter Cutting won his title in the men’s mile, clocking a time of 3:58.94 to become the second BYU athlete to earn an individual title in the event. Jane Hedengren collected the first individual indoor track and field titles of her career in the women’s 5,000 meters with a facility mark of 15:00.12 and the women’s 3,000 meters in a meet record at 8:36.61.
 
Kansas State’s Daniela Wamokpego earned her title in the women’s triple jump with a leap of 13.84 meters.
 
Texas Tech’s Jonathan Seremes defended his title with an NCAA-leading leap of 17.25 meters. For the TTU women, Temitope Adeshina claimed gold in the women’s high jump with a clearance of 1.97 meters.
