TUCSON, Ariz. – Florida State claimed the 2026 Big 12 Beach Volleyball Championship title on Friday, besting TCU 3-0 in the championship final. The Seminoles, the No. 1 overall seed in the event, won the crown in its inaugural season in the league. FSU did not drop a point in its semifinal win over Arizona and the championship finale.
Florida State was led by its top pair, Alexis Durish and Audrey Koenig, who were named the Most Outstanding Pair of the championship. The duo did not drop a set on the No. 1 court in four matches throughout week.
The first championship point was won by the Florida State pair of Myriah Massey and Bailey Higgins on the No. 4 court, claiming the match 21-16, 21-14. The Seminoles’ second point of the finale came on the top court with Durish and Koenig winning a close-fought battle 21-17, 21-19.
Friday opened with the first two upsets of the championship with No. 6 overall seed Arizona defeating No. 4 South Carolina 3-2 and No. 5 Boise State upending No. 3 Arizona State 3-2. The Wildcats and Broncos advanced to the semifinals to face top seeds Florida State and TCU.
The Seminoles dispatched the Wildcats 3-0 in the first semifinal, led by star duo Durish and Koenig, who won in straight sets 21-15, 21-11. Meanwhile, the Horned Frogs followed suit in their semifinal match-up with the Broncos with a 3-0 victory of their own. TCU earned its points on courts two, three and four, and were led by Morgan Williams and Sofia Izuzquiza who on 21-11, 21-16 on No. 4 court.
