GULF SHORES, Ala. – Florida State and TCU will compete as the No. 5 and No. 10 overall seeds, respectively, at the 2026 National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship this weekend in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The duo gives the Big 12 Conference two of the 16 teams in the field, which begins on Friday, May 1, in just its second season sponsoring beach volleyball.
The Seminoles were selected to the field at nationals after winning the Big 12 Beach Volleyball Championship presented by Allstate last week in Tucson, Arizona. FSU defeated TCU, 3-0, in the championship finale of the event, led by the event’s most outstanding pair of Alexis Durish and Audrey Koenig. The two were also part of the FSU contingent earning postseason Conference accolades as Pair of the Year alongside Brooke Niles, who was named Big 12 Coach of the Year. No. 7 seed Florida State opens play with No. 12 seed Stetson at 10 a.m. CT on ESPN2.
Defending national champion TCU enters the weekend as the No. 10 overall seed and will face No. 7 LMU at 2 p.m. CT on ESPN2 in a rematch of last year’s national championship finale. Led by All-Big 12 selections Sofia Izuzquiza, Anhelina Khmil, and Stacy Reeves, the Horned Frogs will carry with them an overall record of 20-10 into the weekend.
Friday’s opening round will give way to the second round and semifinals on Saturday before the national championship match at 11:30 a.m. CT on Sunday, May 3 on ESPN.
