Eva Eliasdottir’s golden goal in double overtime sent No. 5-seed Kansas through to the final of the Big 12 Championship after a tightly contested matchup with No. 1-seed Oklahoma State.
The Jayhawks (14-4-3) finally found a breakthrough after 109 minutes of play and nearly two full overtime periods, defeating the regular-season champions 2-1.
Oklahoma State (15-2-3) forward Gabriella Coleman opened the scoring at the 1:05 mark, the second-fastest goal ever scored at the Big 12 Championship. But KU quickly equalized as Samantha Barnett booted home a pass from Katie McClure to level the score at 1-1 with just 6:45 showing on the clock.
Things remained tied all the way until the last minute of the second overtime, when Eliasdottir knocked in a loose ball following a cross into the box by Ceri Holland. Isabella Cavalcante headed the ball down and Eliasdottir finished the job, sending the Jayhawks passed the Cowgirls and into the final for the first time since 2015.
Kansas will face No. 6-seed TCU in the Big 12 Championship final on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. CT at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri.

Highlights
Messiah Bright’s brace lifted No. 6-seed TCU over No. 2-seed Texas Tech Friday night to send the Horned Frogs to the Big 12 Championship title match.
Bright accounted for both of her team’s two goals as the Horned Frogs topped the Red Raiders 2-1 in the Big 12 semifinal nightcap.
The first of Bright’s two tallies came in the 39th minute as she connected off a cross from Yazmeen Ryan, tying the score at 1-1. Texas Tech midfielder Jordie Harr had gotten the Red Raiders on the board much earlier, scoring just 53 seconds into the match and breaking the record for fastest goal scored at a Big 12 Championship, previously set in the other semifinal by Oklahoma State’s Gabriella Coleman.
In the 67th minute, Bright found the back of the net from long range, beating the Tech goalkeeper from a wide position. That proved to be the game-winner, as TCU held off a late attack from the Red Raiders. TCU’s Emily Alvarado made six saves in the victory.
The Horned Frogs will take on No. 5-seed Kansas in the Big 12 Championship final on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. CT at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri.
