WACO, Texas – Top-seeded Texas Tech secured a 4-2 victory over No. 2 seed UCF to take home the 2025 Big 12 Women’s Tennis Championship title Sunday at the Hurd Tennis Center. The win gives the Lady Raiders the tournament title for the first time since 2017 and the second in program history while improving their record to 22-2 on the season.
Yekaterina Dmitrichenko was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship with a combined record of 5-0 throughout the Lady Raiders Championship run. She finished 3-0 in doubles play and 2-0 in her singles matches at the No. 2 court, including the Championship-clinching point (6-4, 6-4) against UCF.

Texas Tech earned the early advantage by winning the doubles point. The duo of Mariia Hlahola and Avelina Sayfetdinova claimed a 6-2 win on court one before UCF’s Olivia Bergler and Jade Psonka knotted it up with a 6-3 result on court three. Dmitrichenko and Hailey Murphy proved to be the difference makers as the pair notched a 6-3 win on the No. 2 court.
The Lady Raiders added a second point to start the singles portion with Jermine Sherif recording her third singles win of the week in a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 6. UCF responded quickly with straight-set wins from Bergler (6-4, 6-3) on court five and Sophia Biolay (6-2, 6-2) on court three to tie the match at 2-2. Andreea Lila pushed TTU back in front with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 4 and Dmitrichenko delivered the clincher on court two with a 6-4, 6-4 win.
The Lady Raiders and the Knights will wait to see who they play in the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship until the selection show on Monday, April 28 at 5 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
