*NOTE: Second match of session will begin 20 minutes following completion of first match.

The San Antonio Sports Foundation and the University of Texas will
co-host the 2005 Big 12 Soccer Championship Nov. 2, 4 and 6 at Blossom
Soccer Stadium in San Antonio, Texas. This will mark the ninth
consecutive year that the event will be held at this venue. In 1996, the
first league soccer tournament championship was at Anheuser-Busch
Conference and Sports Centre in St. Louis, Mo.
The top eight teams based on conference results determined by a point
system qualify for the Big 12 Championship: a team gets three points
for each conference win and one point for each conference tie.
This season marks the sixth year that eight teams will participate in
the league championship. For the first three years a six-team field was
utilized for the postseason event. The winner of the Big 12 Championship
receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M are the only three teams to
capture a conference postseason championship. Last season second-seeded
Texas A&M won its third title (1997, 2001 and 2004) with a 3-0 win over
the No. 4 seed Texas. The Huskers have claimed the most league tourney
crowns with five (1996, 1998-2000 and 2002), while OSU won in '03.
